My personal blog off site from Medium doesn’t get millions of views a month. Hell, it doesn’t even get thousands of views a month. But, over the last few weeks, people seem to be flocking to my blog, nearly doubling the amount of views in February.

I’ve asked myself why so many times. Is it because of my Pinterest account? Is it finally gearing up to be successful? Are people reading more because they’re bored? Or, does it have to do with a mix of all of these things? The most viewed blog posts? Anything to do with storing vegetables and how to cook a turkey or chicken.

Before this pandemic, my focus had been on living a greener life and how to live off of your garden. It’s something I’ve been doing for years, storing vegetables and canning and preserving fruits. It’s simple and lets me plant a huge garden, getting back in touch with nature and rarely wasting food.

I think it’s amazing that greenhouses are selling out of seeds and cookbooks are being opened and blogs on how to use those old school home economics lessons are becoming more popular. It’s great that people are realizing that we can support one another while still…
