Medium’s New Update Proves People are Over the New Landscape of Writing

turns out, there’s only so much click-bait garbage people can take

I started perusing Medium today, as one does, wondering if there are any good stories left on this platform. There have been countless articles complaining about just what in the actual hell has been going on here, tons of articles telling people to leave and try other things like Substack. I wrote my own article musing on whether or not Medium would continue to be a good platform to write on, or if we should all just abandon ship. I had to slog through all of the ‘advice’ on how to make $5,000 in a minute writing on Medium even though I had blocked so much of that type of content. So, it was a huge surprise to me when I came across an article from Medium letting everyone know that the Payment Program was changing.

And, it seems, changing for the better.

As the rise of AI starts to take over our lives, we’ve begun to notice that it isn’t necessarily for the better — shocking, I know. I’ve long refused to add as little AI to my home as possible. No Alexa’s or door cameras for me, thanks. Hasn’t anyone ever watched the Treehouse of Horrors Halloween episode where the Simpsons move into a smart house that tries to kill them in the end? Clearly not.
