Medium has rolled out A LOT of new changes, lately. A lot of people haven’t noticed (I hadn’t for the longest time), some people — I’m sure they’re out there — are fine with them, and a whole whack load of us are absolutely flabbergasted and pissed right off.

I’ve been working on this platform for over a year. I’ve been publishing on a slight schedule, altering it every so often to see if I can make more money, or even just get a new view or two. I was slowly, steadily, working my way up. I wasn’t making much, not even close to a part-time gig, but my numbers were going up, and with it, my payment. I was feeling good, I was trying to write better pieces that would get people to read longer, to get invested, to like my work and want more. I was writing more pieces, trying new things and stretching my voice into all of the areas that I’m interested in.

I was having fun.

And then…

Well, we all know what happened. Someone got their panties all in a twist that Medium had stayed the same as it was for too long and decided to change everything. Now, my stats are so skewed I’m left wondering if anyone had actually been reading my work at all. Because it’s easily to flip…
