Are we Getting Lazier, or are we Just Tired?

has technology really changed us that much?

I buck at any type of change, but when it comes to technology? Yeah, right. I’d happily sit in my chair ignoring the world around me if I could.

That means that things like google home and all those fancy gadgets are never allowed in my house. For one, I’ve seen that Simpson’s episode and don’t want my house to fall in love with me and attack my family. For another, I find them useless. The only robot that will make the cut is a Roomba because sweeping is something I just can’t get behind. So far, I’ve held out and no robot scurries around my floors searching for dust bunnies.

The Jetsons’ looked so cool with Rosey cleaning up after the family’s bullshit, but fast-forward to the actual 2000s and lack of robot butlers and flying cars and I just can’t do it. Call me crazy, but if I was rich enough to have a servant, I’d like them to be human. A robot butler doesn’t sound like a dream come true, it just sounds like one more piece of technology that I have to learn and update. It would be just one more thing that keeps me terrifyingly connected to the world around me.

*let me just button up my old-man cardigan here…*

And, that connectivity is part of the problem. People are so completely on, 24/7…
