After the Vaccine, Will we Succumb to our old Habits?
Or, will we grow and learn from everything that’s happened.
I already felt the exhilarating, yet anxiety-ridden, thrill of searching vacations for 2022. I’ve been used to heading out on a vacation every year, from cross Atlantic trips to jumping the provincial borders. While sitting at home wasn’t what got me feeling blah, as I’m a happy introvert, and I wasn’t twitching because I couldn’t go on a big vacation in 2020, it was the lack of planning that got me down.
I love planning trips, almost more than I love the trip itself. The thrill of finding the best deal, of booking spa appointments far in advance for extra pampering and relaxation, of splurging on things you normally wouldn’t. With no end in sight, and no seat sales to peruse (at least once lockdowns hit…also, a vacation during a pandemic does not sound relaxing to me at all), I was left to the immediate world around me. And, I didn’t hate it.
Yes, I’ve been jonesing for a trip like most everyone else, but until the reality of a vaccine hit us, I was looking to trips much closer to home. Best of all, I was happy with it.
