8 Things you can Make with that Big Box of Apples you got for Free
Because eating 200–500 apples isn’t feasible.
This year, my apple trees didn’t give me that many apples. It was okay, though, I just bought a small box of apples to make some pies, deciding that this year would be just a shitty year for apples. Then, my aunt said she had apples for me to use. Happy as a clam I accepted the delivery….of two HUGE boxes of apples. So, what to do with them?
Pies
Duh. The easiest and yummiest way to rid yourself of apples is to make an apple pie….or 20. You can freeze uncooked pies in ziploc bags, ready for a cozy night in.
Sorry, I’m that bitch and won’t give you my pie recipe…Pinterest away!
Crumbles/Crisps
Don’t want to make a pie crust? Get your apple crumble or crisp on! Freeze a few for delicious treats during the chilly winter months. See same as above re: recipe.
Dehydrate Slices
I never knew how much I liked dried apple slices until I tried it out last year…they are so good! I can eat 3 apples in a sitting, easily, just munching away watching TV.
Slice them up and pop ’em into your dehyrator. They will take about 8–11 hours on medium heat. Cinnamon optional.
You can also use your oven if you don’t own a dehydrator.
